Custom takes time, and the fair question is how much. Here is the timeline stage by stage, and what can stretch it.
The stages
- Consultation and measure: one visit, samples at your windows, a written quote on the spot
- Order to arrival: most custom lines run two to four weeks in production and transit
- Arrival to install: your installation is scheduled once the order arrives
- Install day itself: installation usually happens in a single visit
What stretches the timeline
- Motorized treatments: these can take longer than standard blinds and shades
- Shutters: frames are built to each opening, so shutters take longer to make than blinds and shades
Planning around real dates
We confirm the expected window in writing on your quote, and the same team that measured comes back to install. If you are working toward a deadline, a listing, a holiday, a new build closing, say so at the consultation so the timeline is confirmed in writing before you order.
The two-to-four-week wait is also the argument against rushing the decision: a little time with samples in your own light is worth it for something you will live with for years.
